The work Meditation with the Stars consists of a video work that puts together sound and images taken from guided mindful meditation youtube videos, with short, fast and abrupt sequences, borrowed from videos showing personalities known from American pop culture and social media, among others: Paris Hilton, Justin Bieber, Britney Spears, Linsey Lohan, Kim Kardashian, Kylie Jenner etc., who are photographed by paparazzi photographers at different events. The continuous meditation video is intermittently interrupted by video sequences that only show the exact moment when the celebrity is fully illuminated and blurred by the flashing lights coming from the paparazzi cameras.
The work was exhibited as part of the solo-exhibitions 拆解UNDONE at 凹凸 Aotu space in Beijing, China and Fatal at Art Room 1000fryd in Aalborg, Denmark, and as part of the group exhibition I See You Are (Not) There at c4 projects in Copenhagen, Denmark.
