Meditation with the Stars

We are living through a challenging time, where many find themselves in limbo between their inner self and outside existence struggling with negotiation of how to combine the two. Social distancing conflicts with our human needs to embrace our surroundings in a personal and productive manner. The work Meditation with the Stars draws on these conflicting desires. By repurposing the narrative of a guided meditation and superimposing it with paparazzi flashes, the anonymous idea of the celebrity is remodeled into a guided mindful watching of the stars.
The work was exhibited as part of the solo-exhibition Fatal at Art Room 1000fryd in Aalborg, Denmark and as part of the group exhibition I See You Are (Not) There at c4 projects in Copenhagen.
